Today I woke up and had to meet with my class. My Professor discussed some of our schedule for our stay here in Florence and we also created out blogs. Today we also learned that it was a national holiday in Italy, the feast of the kings. Professor told us that all or most of the stores and shops would be closed and that there would be a parade around the Duomo. A group of the girls from class that I have met decided that we would go see the Duomo and walk around in town. After exploring the town for a while we had a nice lunch at a small restaurant right near the Duomo. I ate a small salad and had tortellini soup, it was really good! After a long day of adventuring off in the town and getting a real feel of the small town of Florence, we headed back to our hostel to take a nap.
